INTEGRATING THE WAG INTO YOUR PERFORMANCE
Will guitarists have to change all their playing techniques? Will they have to learn all new ones?
Guitarists will probably find that using the WAG adds to their techniques, but does not change their current ones. The WAG takes a matter of minutes to get used to.
If I use the WAG, can I still use my other effects controllers?
Absolutely, yes. The WAG was never intended to be the only means of controlling your effects. It is another, powerful, tool for controlling effects.
Is the WAG difficult to learn?
In about 5 minutes, you should start getting the hang of it. After about 15 minutes you won’t want to set it down.
Are effects built into the Base Unit?
No. The WAG was never intended to produce effects. We realize that your effects are your “secret sauce” and we definitely don’t want to mess with that. The WAG is strictly a wireless remote controller that can bring new life to your existing effects, and works with any effect that uses industry-standard interfaces.
Can I use more than one WAG Ring at a time?
Yes, as long as each Ring has an associated Base Unit. Remember that each WAG Base Unit works with exactly one Ring at a time, but that it can work with any Ring you choose.
CONNECTION AND CONFIGURATION
Which types of gear can it control?
Any device that employs a foot switch input jack, expression pedal input jack, or midi input jack for the purposes of effects control.
What MIDI messages can the WAG send?
The WAG can be configured to send any CC# and/or Program Change# over any MIDI Channel number of your choice.
Does the WAG have configurable parameters? Can they be stored as patches?
The WAG has factory presets and user patches. You can set parameters that allow you to configure several operating aspects of the WAG, including: MIDI CC# and Channel, Range of motion, Direction of motion, and active output ports. See also the Features link on the Web page.
Does the WAG require alteration of my gear?
No.
Can I control more than one effect at a time?
Yes, the configuration options enable you to issue control signals out any interface. How you achieve that control depends on how you configure your WAG operating parameters and the connected effects devices.
THE RING
What is the transmission range?
The estimated indoor transmission range is 50 feet. We’ve see it work up to 100 feet indoors and +350 feet outdoors.
Will it last through my jam session?
The estimated duration of a battery charge is 7 hours or more. Note that a short recharge of about 15 minutes can extend the use considerably.
Will the WAG Ring be an obstacle to my style of play? Does it have any cords?
It shouldn’t be, because the Ring is of standard size, is lightweight, and has no cords… it’s wireless.
What ring sizes do you carry?
The WAG comes in 8 ring sizes, intended to accommodate the following user groups: Average Child, Average Female, Average Adult Male, Large Adult Male
When the rechargeable battery wears out, can I replace the battery?
The short answer is the battery cannot be replaced. As with similar consumer electronics products, you will need to buy a new WAG Ring. The new version of the WAG will probably be out before your battery dies.
